Hi everybody. This is probably my last post of the year, because (as you can see below) Oliver is almost here and I'm going to be a little bit busy, hehe....yes! our family grows!
Pero antes de embarcarnos en esta nueva aventura, y para despedir este año maravilloso, quería mostraros el calendario de fieltro de pared que le he hecho a Leo:

Buenos días! Acaba de pasar Halloween y este año ha sido la primera vez que lo celebramos en casa, con el peque.
Respecto al disfraz no estaba segura si se lo querría poner, y no me gustaron los que vi por ahí, así que decidí hacerlo yo misma, solo tenía un par de días, así que me puse manos a la obra!!
Primero teñí unas vendas con infusión de manzanilla que encontré caducada en la cocina y las sequé.
Hello! Halloween has just finished and this was the first time we celebrated it at home, with our little boy. Regarding the costume, I was not sure if he would finally accept to put it on, and I didn't like the ones I saw on sale, so I decided to do it myself...I only had a couple of days, so I got on with it quickly!!
First of all, I dyed some bandages with some old camomile infusions I found in the kitchen, I put them to dry.
Después las enrrollé y unté los bordes con una crema de vinagre de modena que también tenía por ahí, aunque luego me di cuenta que aún secas y aireadas olían muy fuerte😷, así que antes de utilizarlas las puse a remojo con suavizante... Y perfecto!
Later I rolled them up again and dyed the edges with Modena Vinegar cream, but even after they were dry and airy for a long time the smelled really strong, so before using them I washed them with some fabric softener....and perfect!
Empecé enrollando una venda por la pierna y subiendo, y colocando trocitos colgando que serán los puntos que cogeré luego.
I started rolling a bandage up the leg, and putting little pieces hanging. These would be the points I will stitch up later.
Una vez acabado el pantalón, seguimos el mismo proceso con la camiseta...
After finishing the leggings I followed the same technique with the t-shirt...
Y ya tenemos una momia terrorifica😂😂😂

Y aquí tenéis a nuestra calabaza, un poco atípica pero super terrorífica!

En realidad no es una calabaza de halloween, sino de las que llevan los peregrinos del Camino de Santiago, pero es lo único que teníamos a mano y queríamos participar en el concurso de calabazas del cole.
It is not a Halloween pumpkin but one of these used in the "Way of St. James" , but it's the only thing we had, and we really wanted to take part in the school pumpkins exhibition.
Así que con unas plumas que amablemente nos prestaron las ocas del abuelo, una cuchara y un cuchillo... Pasamos una mañana de lo más entretenida... Et Voila!! Aquí tenéis nuestras calabazas, iluminadas y todo!!
So with some feathers from the granddad gooses, a spoon and a knife...we spend a really enjoyable morning...et voila! Here you have our pumpkins, iluminated they looked terrifying!
Hola a todos! Hace poco fue la "graduación" de Leo en la guarde. No soy muy partidaria de hacer regalos a los profesores, al menos no cada año, pero en este caso, en que finalizaba una etapa tan bonita para la vida de nuestros peques creo que se lo merecía, por enseñarles tanto y cuidarlos tan bien durante estos dos años.
Hi everybody! Last summer we celebrated Leo's graduation day at the nursery school. I don't really like giving presents to the teachers, at least not every year, but in this case, when such a nice stage for our children's lifes ends, I really think she deserved it. She has teached so many things and taken care so well of them!
Así que le hicimos un regalito entre todas las mamás de la clase, y yo le preparé este broche con la etiqueta que podéis ver abajo. Desde aquí de nuevo te doy las gracias Miriam por toda esa dedicación y energía con nuestros peques.
So all the mums of the class joined together to buy a little present for her, and I did this brooch and the card showed below. With these lines I would like to thank Miriam again, for her dedication and energy with our little ones.

Es un cuadro que le regalé a mi hermano mayor por su cumpleaños, si hay algún fan de la música psicodélica de los años 60 por aquí enseguida le sonará, como lo reconoció el mismo en cuanto lo vio, es la portada del cuadro de los 13th Floor Elevators, pero con la felicitación de cumpleaños, jeje.
Aquí abajo os dejo a la derecha la portada del disco original para que podáis comparar, al final creo que quedó bastante logrado! :-P
It's a painting I gave my big brother for his birthday. If there's any 60s psychedelic music here, you surely have already recognized it, as my brother inmediately did the moment he saw it: it's the cover of The 13th Floor Elevators record, but instead of the group name I wrote the birthday greeting, hehe.
Below I show you, on the right, the original record cover so you can compare them. I think I got a good result! :-P

I have a lot of ongoing projects, but today I'm going to show you something I still haven't written about, it's an old proyect I have rescued from the archive...it brings me such good memories!!
Es el móvil para la cuna que le hice a Leo cuando nació, con dinosaurios colgando. Se agarra con una rosca a la cuna y tiene varias canciones de cuna que suenan mientras gira.
It is the crib mobile I made for Leo when he was born, with dinosaurs hanging. You can hold it with a plastic nut to the crib and sings several lullabies while it spins.
¡Que carita de alucinado ponía viendo girar a los dinosaurios mientras sonaba la música!
Leo had such a staggered face seeing the dinosaurs spinning with the music!
Y luego cuando se intentaba poner de pie y lo intentaba agarrar, estaba muy gracioso.
Later, when he started trying to get on his feet, he was really funny trying to grab it.
Buenos días! Hoy os voy a mostrar un proyecto muy especial, y muy útil también. Este es un poquito más grande de lo habitual, jeje....habeis oído hablar de las torres de aprendizaje? Se basan en la pedagogía Montessori y sirven para adaptar las alturas de la casa al niño, así puede ponerse a nivel de la encimera y "ayudarnos" con las tareas.
Hi! Today I'm going to show you a really special project, and very useful too. This is bigger than usual...have you ever heard about learning towers? They are based on Montessori pedagogy and they're used to adapt house levels to the children, so they can "help" us with some chores.
Es un invento genial, pero las originales son muy caras, así que investigando un poco por internet decidimos hacer una nosotros mismos con un taburete del Ikea y unos listones de madera que teníamos por casa.

Y aquí os dejo un video para que la veais mejor. Al principio Leo no sabía subir, pero solo le llevó un par de días y cogío la técnica enseguida para subir y bajar.
Here you have a video to see it better. At first Leo didn't know how to climb himself up, but it only take him a couple of days to learn how to climb up and down.
La verdad es que la usamos muchisimo y nos lo pasamos genial cocinando juntos! Para mí se ha convertido en un imprescindible, os animo a fabricar una y vereis.

Hoy quería mostraros una cosa muy especial, mi gran proyecto del año pasado. Al fin está aquí!!!!Es un libro tranquilo, es decir, un libro con actividades para que aprendan y se entretengan. Tiene un asa para poder llevarlo como una maletita.
Hi!! Today I wanted to show you a super special craft, my big last year proyect...it's already here!!! It's a Quiet Book, a book with a lot of activities to entertain kids and to learn things too. It has a handle to carry it as a little bag.
Esta hecho en fieltro y tiene varias hojas, con diferentes actividades, pensadas cada una para que aprendan una cosa y desarrollen una habilidad.
It's made of felt and has several sheets, with different activities, all of them thought to learn something and to develop an ability.
En la tapa puse una foto suya. Y en la primera página se trata de aprender las formas básicas, tiene diferentes formas que se sacan y se ponen en su sitio con velcro, tienen que quedar bien colocadas, sino no vale!: In the inside cover there is a photo of Leo. And the first page is about learning the basic shapes. It has different shapes that you can take out and put in the right place with velcro. You have to put them right into the outline!!
La siguiente página es para jugar a las marionetas, tiene varios animales que se pueden guardar en el establo, poner en diferentes puntos de la pagina que simula el campo o colocar en el dedo para jugar. A Leo le encanta ponerlos a dormir y encerrarlos, jeje
The next page is about puppets, it has several animals that you can keep into the barn, stick them in the right places on the next page (that is a field) or put then on your finger to play. Leo loves to put them to sleep, hehe
Las dos páginas siguientes tienen una carretera, se trata de conducir el coche por la carretera hasta el garaje sin salirse, además hay una gasolinera para repostar y un par de casas para visitar.
The next two pages have a road. You have to drive the car along the road untill the garage, following the road. There is also a petrol station and a couple of houses to visit.
La siguiente es el típico muñeco al estilo Mr. Potato, con muchos ojos, bocas, etc. que puedes combinar como quieras para hacer diferentes caras.
The next one is like Mr. Potato, there are a lot of different eyes, mouths, etc. you can combine as you prefer to make different faces.
Esta es la página preferida de Leo de momento, la de los colores.
This one is Leo's favorite page, the colors page.
Estas dos páginas siguientes están relacionadas, y son para aprender a contar. La idea es ir quitando y poniendo las manzanas del árbol y mover los patitos correspondientes en la página de la derecha. El pájaro también se puede mover!
This two pages go together, and are tought to learn to count. The idea is to keep some apples into the basket, so you can count with the little ducks on the right. You can move the little bird too!
El caracol tiene en su concha un laberinto, hay que llevar el cascabel hasta el centro. Además nos vale para que siempre que llegamos a esta página hay que cantar la canción del "caracol, col, col...."
The snail has a maze in the shell, so you have to move the bell to the center. Always we reach this page we have to sing the snail song.
Y por último un reloj, pero esta Leoes todavía demasiado pequeño...
And the last one, the clock. But Leo is still too little for this one.
Lo bueno es que las hojas se pueden poner y quitar y puedo hacer más según vaya creciendo y pueda realizar actividades más complejas. De momento escogí actividades sencillas, que pudieran entretenerle, sobre todo de cara a los viajes largos
The best is that you can add or take away the sheets, and I can always make different ones to add as Leo grows up and needs more complex activities. For the moment I chose easy ones, to entertain him, especially in long trips.
La verdad es que me costó muchísimo tiempo y pinchazos hacerlo, pero solo por ver la carita que puso cuando lo vio y lo que se entretiene con él vale la pena.
I needed a lot of time and work to make it, and I poked my skin more than once, but when I saw his face when he saw it and the time he spends playing with it worths everything.
